'Force' has collected Rs.5 crore on opening

John Abraham and Genelia D’souza starrer 'Force' had a decent opening day at the box office. The film did well in parts of the country. 'Force' performed well in the single screens, but the multiplexes of Delhi and Punjab were low.

Mumbai – Rs. 1.81 crore, Delhi/UP – Rs. 1.03 crore, East Punjab – Rs. 37 lakhs, West Bengal – Rs. 18 lakhs, Bihar – Rs. 15 lakhs, CP Berar – Rs. 28 lakhs, CI – Rs. 17 lakhs, Rajasthan – Rs. 28 lakhs, Nizam – Rs. 17 lakhs, Mysore – Rs. 20 lakhs and Others – Rs. 20 lakhs.

Dhoni watchs Force (Hindi Khakka Khakka) in Chennai

MS Dhoni , Indian cricket captain and CSK skipper watched John Abraham's Force (Hindi remake of Khakka Khakka), at Four Frames preview theatre in Chennai.

Dhoni it seems is a close buddy of John Abraham as they share the same passion for racing bikes. And when Force released on Friday (Sep 30), John arranged a special show night show for 'Captain Cool' and his wife Sakshi at Chennai's Four Frames preview theatre.

Dhoni and Sakshi were accompanied by his CSK teammates, the stylish left hand batsman Suresh Raina and left-arm spinner Shadap Jakati.

Dhoni was received by Four Frames Manager Kalyanam and his family, who made it a pleasant experience for MSD and friends at the theatre.

My films are story based - Madhavan

Madhavan is not keen on doing the remake of his Tanu Weds Manu in Tamil, rather is planning a sequel to it in Hindi..

He says, ‘My films are not typical films. My heroines have a lot more to do than just item numbers. My films are all story-based and the woman's character is very performance-oriented.’


The actor's hit films like Alaipayuthey and Tanu Weds Manu are prime examples of this. There were talks of remaking Tanu Weds Manu in Tamil with Maddy in the lead again. But now, it looks like the sequel in Hindi is priority.

This news comes in the wake of buzz doing rounds in the film circles across the country that Superstar might do a cameo in the upcoming ‘Ra One.’

This SRK-Kareena Kapoor offing has been making news right from early days of its conception. Now when the film is almost over and readying to hit theatres there is more hype than ever. The latest that we heard was that southern Superstar Rajinikanth will be appearing in a cameo in this mega-budget film.

But the family of the Superstar has reportedly responded in the negative regarding Superstar's role in ‘Ra One.’ The reason being given is that Superstar is giving top priority to his ‘Rana.’ Not only that, the Superstar is also taking all care that he does not give his health a beating.

So with this, all rumours about the Superstar shooting for ‘Ra One’ as some even suggested from the Hyderabad studios, can be put to rest, until some solid piece of evidence from the Superstar’s kin is conveyed.

The Superstar will soon make his presence in KS Ravikumar’s ‘Rana.’ As hinted earlier, the talkie portions involving the lead actor will be shot first and then the director will move on with the other sequences. All associated with the filming are taking absolute care that nothing to strain the health of the superstar will be involved. The script too is touted to have been slightly altered to suit superstar’s health condition.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan to deliver twins in November

  There have been a number of tidbits about Aishwarya Rai Bachchan’s pregnancy. It is now widely speculated that she will deliver twin kids in November.

Abhishek Bachchan, “It’s a private affair. The entire family is very happy and excited about the kid. And yes the doctors have confirmed that is twins for Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.”

The source further quoted that Aishwarya is due for November but the star couple is expecting the babies closer to Diwali, by October end itself.

Earlier, in their movie Guru, they both appear as pair with twin kids. It may be mentioned that the film showcased the couple being blessed with twins; looks like the reel life scene might soon take place for them in real life as well!

Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika in Paiyaa Hindi remake

Earlier, there were reports that director Lingusamy would remake his hit film Paiyaa in Hindi with Suriya in the lead role. Interestingly, in the Tamil version, Suriya's brother Karthi and Tamannaah played the lead roles. Paiyaa is an urban love story that depicts some interesting happenings in the lives of a pair of lovers. The movie was shot in Bengaluru, Hyderabad and Mumbai.

But latest reports suggest that the director is likely to cast ex-flames Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone. However, the director is currently busy with his multi-starrer Vettai which is almost complete. After the release of Vettai, Lingusamy will make an official announcement regarding his new project.

Prithviraj to romance Rani Mukherjee for a Hindi flik

 South India's young superstar Prithviraj's debut Hindi film titled Ayya, in which he plays a Tamil painter, will have Rani Mukherjee as the heroine, reports said.

Directed by Anurag Kashyap, this proposed film will start rolling next month. Anurag and his team were reportedly impressed with the actor's performances in some of his Mollywood movies and consequently offered him the lead role in the offbeat film. Ayya also marks the Bollywood debut of National Award winning Marathi director Sachin Kundalkar.

Prithviraj said that he decided to do this project not because he fancies doing a Hindi film. "I rejected plenty of offers from Hindi. However, I found Anurag's script so interesting that I decided that Ayya would be my first Hindi film. I'll also be dubbing for the movie in Hindi," he added.

Gautham Menon's hindi VTV Prem Katha renamed

Even as we get to hear that the new Ranbir Kapoor starrer is named after a song from a film starring his uncle Randhir Kapoor, the new Prateik starrer is named after a song in a Rishi Kapoor starrer. While Ayan Mukerjee's film with Ranbir is titled Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Gautham Menon's love story with Prateik has just been christened Ek Deewana Tha.

Prateik, who has now dropped the Babbar from his name, is hell-bent on going the solo hero way in a big way. So his next release, a love story that was earlier titled Prem Katha, has been renamed Ek Deewana Tha... to go with Prateik's character.

Apparently, Pratik plans to accept solo hero projects only. His next release My Friend Pinto is not only a solo hero project, it's also titled after Prateik's character.

And now Prateik's next project, Tamil film maker Gautham Menon's remake of his own Tamil hit Vainnaithaandi Varuvaa, is an out-and-out love story featuring Prateik and model-actress Amy Jackson.

Apparently, Prateik was keen that the film's title be pertinent to his character.

Says the source, "The original Tamil film was titled Vainnaithaandi Varuvaa which means, 'Will You Cross The Skies and Come?' Director Menon was thinking of a similar abstract title for the Hindi version. In fact it was to be called Prem Katha in Hindi. But then, it was decided that the film should have a zany title to go with Prateik's character."

Another factor which apparently played a hand in the film's renaming was Salman Khan. After Salman's Ek Tha Tiger it was felt that a title with the hero being extolled in the past tense created a sense of nostalgia and excitement.

"Besides," adds the source, "It's a line that comes from a favourite song of Prateik's... 'Ek Haseena Thi, Ek Deewana Tha'. The first three words of the song had already been used as the title of an Urmila Matondkar thriller. The makers of the Prateik starrer decided to use the second part of the Karz song for him."

Vijay Singh, CEO of Fox-Star, producers of Ek Deewana Tha, has confirmed the title.

Kajal Agarwal is on a roll with her latest stripping acts for top Bollywood magazine covers. Recently the actress, for the first time in her career, went topless for the 'FHM' magazine cover, August issue.

The controversy prevailing with this photo shoot is that, the Bollywood actress has denied posing topless ever in her life and had even accused the magazine for allegedly morphing her picture. But, the newly released topless picture of Kajal Agarwal is completely revealing her back where she is grabbing on to a netted white fabric to cover her bust line with a green Apple in her right hand.

The photograph is quite convincing, but the actress is clearly denying such reports. Her first topless picture had Kajal covering her assets with her palms. Even the FHM India’s official Facebook page has posted a picture of the actress to show that they had not morphed and that the actress has actually posed for the topless picture.

What Rajini doing in Shahrukh Khan's Ra One

Superstar Rajinikanth will be seen in a cameo in Shahrukh Khan’s sci-fi Ra.One. The Tamil actor has reportedly agreed to do a guest appearance in the forthcoming Bollywood film.

Sources say that Shahrukh Khan wanted Rajinikanth to be part of the film and that is the reason why the King of Bollywood recently said that Ra.One will pay tribute to the superstar’s Endhiran.

Rajinikanth’s portion will be shot at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad on October 3. It is said that the Tamil superstar will deliver the dialogue - Naan oru thadava sonna, nooru thadava sonna madhiri (When I have said something once, it should be assumed that I have said it a hundred times) – from his blockbuster movie Baasha.

It is learnt that Shahrukh Khan was thinking to have a lookalike of Rajinikanth but changed his mind to rope in the superstar himself for the scene. The Endhiran actor will be reportedly seen in a scene, where the Bollywood actor is under threat from deadly gangsters.

Salman confirms Kanchana hindi remake

Akshay becomes Captain in Hindi Ramana

 A couple of days ago we have come across an update that Director Murugadoss is in plans of remaking his film Ramana in Hindi.

Now latest buzz is that Murugadoss is in plans of going to make Ramanna in Hindi for with Akshay Kumar as hero, producer by Vipul Shah. The director has recently met Akshay and has discussed the script with him. The actor was thoroughly impressed with Murugadoss narration as it suits the star’s image. The idea of the Hindi remake of Ramana started when AR Murgadoss sat on a hunger strike in support of Anna Hazare in Chennai. It was then the director hinted that he is going to remake his Vijayakanth starrer Ramanna in Hindi.

Ramana is a film which deals with the theme eradication of corruption. Murugadoss has later remade the same film in Telugu as Tagore with Chiranjeevi in the lead and then in Kannada as Vishnu Sena with Vishnuvardhan (actor) in the lead role.

The shoot of the Hindi version start next year once the director’s completes his next film with Vijay, which is slated for summer 2012 release.

It is well known that the Bollywood stars are eyeing in South Indian films and this has been proved with the recent remakes of Kaavalan, Uthamaputhiran and Kanchana.
