'Mayakkam Enna' Highlights & Interesting facts

The songs and the teaser trailer from Dhanush's 'Mayakkam Enna' have hyped the expectations on the film multi-fold among the young. Now the latest grapevine has is that the film will see Dhanush through four different stages in his life.
http://im.rediff.com/movies/2011/sep/22mayakkam.jpg
It is said that Dhanush will be seen in various stages, as a boy just out of his teenage to an old man! This is one of the USPs of the film which will be a big hit among audience, according to sources. "The national award winning actor has pulled off a great performance and his acting in the teasers is just a prelude", say those in the know.

When quizzed Selva about his three prior hits with Dhanush and what will be different in 'Mayakkam Enna', he expressed "We planned it in a manner that the shades of our prior three films wont be seen in this. Dhanush's acting also will be different and you wouldn't have seen this side of his. Also, Richa Gangopadhyay is on par with Dhanush's performance".

His song with brother Dhanush, 'Kadhal En Kadhal...' is rocketing the charts and introduced to us to the singer in Selva who has delivered the colloquial lyrics well. But the director has a different tale to tell, he jokingly quoted that he only recorded the premix with GV but GV insisted on releasing it with Selva's voice as it has a rustic feel and when the latter didn't want credits he gave credits as well.

Richa Gangopadhyay will be making her debut in Tamil through this film and her character is sketched with ample importance in the script, something on the lines of importance given to Anitha and Divya's characters in '7G Rainbow Colony' and 'Kadhal Konden'.

Come back to IndiaGlitz for more interesting information on this Dhanush starrer that is gearing up for a Diwali release.

Looks like Dhanush - Richa Gangopadhyay starrer 'Mayakkam Enna' has seen a change in its release date and has now joined the Diwali bandwagon that already has three biggies lined up namely Suriya's '7aum Arivu', Vijay's 'Velayudham' and Silambarasan's 'Osthi'.

Incidentally, Richa Gangopadhyay is going to debut into Tamil cinema through two films at a go! Considering both her films are raving good expectations among fans, she is definitely going to make a mark in Tamil cinema through her very debut, due to the contrast of characters she plays in both the films.

'Mayakkam Enna' directed by Selvaraghavan has Dhanush, Richa and Sunder Ramu in the lead roles and is a breezy entertainer, that is not just a love story but also on friendship and the day to day problems a youth faces.

The film has its tunes composed by GV Prakash and the music was unveiled at a radio station in the city recently. The songs have set a rage among the young due to its colloquial lyrics, especially 'Oda Oda Dhooram...' crooned by Dhanush.

As the title suggests dreamy love, we'll have to wait to know if the movie will smitten audiences as well.

Difficult to title film in Tamil - Selvaraghavan

http://accesskollywood.com/photo-galleries/mayakkam-enna-audio-launch/images/mayakkam-enna-audio-launch01.jpg
When asked Selvaraghavan that how is film was titled Mayakkam Enna, he said, " To tell the truth I did not get a title that suited the story. My whole brain was burning. Then one day while I was driving my car, I happened to listen to one of the Shivaji sir’s song. There I caught this title. It is very difficult to title a film in Tamil.

There is a question that whether Dhanush in this film is for the sake of the story or convenience. There is no convenience in this. In fact, if there is a debutant actor, he will not go anywhere.
You can extract the work as per our whims and fancies. But Dhanush is now a popular. I have to wait for his call sheet. Hence Dhanush is in this film for the sake of the story and not for convenience. The audience in the theatre should forget themselves in the story. That is important. There is no need of exotic locations or high budgets. It is enough if the story happens within the four walls. The film which is being made for commercial purposes will not succeed. My next film will have Arya and Anushka in the lead role."

Venghai Movie Review

Film: Venghai

Director: Hari
Producer: B. Bharathireddy
Banner: Vijaya Productions
Music: Devi Sri Prasad
Rating: 2.5/5
venghai_movie_review_way2movies
Vengai story:
Vengai is typical movie of Hari’s stamp. It is just the tale of father and son affection and in between comes some action and love which forms Vengai.
Selvam (Dhanush) is the son of Veerapandi (Raj Kiran) who is an influential person in a village in Sivaganga district and does all good for the welfare of the village. Prakash Raj fondly called as Annachi becomes MLA for this region and Veerapandi takes an oath from Annachi to do only good things for the people in the village. However, Annachi brings out his evil image and does all illegal activities to make money and exercise his power. But Veerapandi, who gets angry with his activities, tries to stop them. Selvam who comes to know about his activities takes things in his hands but his father sends him to Trichy.
Selvam comes across Radhika (Tamannah) who is his childhood friend. Both of them within no time fall in love for each other. As Veerapandi is always standing as a problem for his activities Annachi decides to settle Veerapandi scores. From here the Tom and Jerry show starts between them. How Annachi takes revenge on Veerapandi? Will the love life of Selvam and Radhika turn successful? How will Dhanush settle the scores with Annachi? Checkout for the answers on the big screens…….
Performances:
Dhanush once again wins the hearts of audience with his superb performance as an angry young man. His mannerisms, ease in performing tough fights and gracy dance movements are the show stealers. Overall, Dhanush lived up to the expectations in all aspects.
Speaking about Tamanna, she is a perfect fit for the role of Radhika. She oozes in glamour in traditional outfits too and looked ultra glamorous in songs with skimpy outfits.
Prakashraj was again usually at his best. It looks like words are not enough to praise Prakash Raj as he is the tailor-made for the role of a corrupt politician. He also brought out some laughter which reminds his character in Ghilli.
Raj Kiran played his part well. He brought out anger, agony, frustration and love in right proportions. Comedy by Ganja Karuppu has brought some laughs.
Technicalities:
Director Hari yet again proved that he is good at handling mass masala films. His most gripping screenplay and effective narration will impress the viewers. True winner is Hari for his jet speed screenplay.
Vetri’s cinematography is worth mentioning and especially the way he captured the village beauty, songs and action sequences is good. Vijayan’s editing was sharp and made the movie not to loose its grip. Production values are great. Music by Devisri Prasad is peppy and foot-tapping. All the songs were excellently picturised.
Analysis:
For all those who have the heart to enjoy the regular formula based, masala action films…Vengai serves you 100% satisfaction. First half was neatly brought out with the right force for second half by successfully creating a strong conflict between hero and villain. Again the action drama continues in second half. Action based formula movies always have their own stamina to break the BO.
The audiences feel satisfied as Hari has some good moments along with thrilling moments coming out as a surprise in the climax. Action, racy script, strong and gripping narration, power packed performance of Dhanush and Raj Kiran, Tamanna glamour and DSP’s music stand as plus points of the film. On the flip side, the film has a familiar theme in regular style of Hari. Given the good amount of publicity by the team and a word of mouth, Vengai has all the chances to make it big at BO, especially ‘B & C’ centres.
Vengai is a regular action formula film with sundry elements of entertainment sprinkled around. Worth a look-in if you are a fan of Dhanush or Tamanna.
Final Verdict: A power packed action masala entertainer…
