Karthi's Saguni 70% Shoots complete

Director Shankar Dayal has confirmed that seventy percent of the shoot of his debut film 'Saguni', which stars Karthi Sivakumar and Pranitha in lead roles, was over and the rest will be completed soon.

"The movie has taken shape well. Almost all the characters in 'Saguni', especially that of Karthi's, are positive thinkers and they would instill a sense of confidence in the minds of the audience," he says.

Explaining the reason behind naming the film 'Saguni', he said, "Many feel Saguni is a negative title. But there is a positive side to it. The Saguni character in the great epic Mahabharatha is a symbol of intelligence."

 

Throwing light on the film's storyline, he said, "It is about an innocent young man, who comes to the city from a village. At a time when he admires everything he sees at the metropolis, how his life undergoes a change forms the crux."

Pranitha is Vijay’s heroine?

It looks like luck is following Pranitha as she is soon going to join the list of top actresses in Tamil. The Udhayan girl from Bangalore is doing a couple of promising projects in Tamil.

The actress is high on sky after she bagged an offer in Saguni opposite hot and happening hero Karthi. Now the latest reports reveal that Pranitha might star opposite Vijay in one of his forthcoming films. It is well known that Vijay is teaming up with director A R Murugadoss and sources reveal that Pranitha is one of the few names considered to play Vijay’s heroine in this film. Even the chances are bright for the actress to star opposite Vijay.

The actress sis all happy with the way her career is progressing and she is ready to take up challenging offers from Kollywood. So, what else can an upcoming actress expect other than this. She must be very lucky to star opposite Vijay with her third film.

Pranitha is Karthi’s heroine

As per the confirmed reports Kollywood is at a buzz that an emerging actress from Kannada is going to share the screen space with Karthi in Saguni.

Many Kollywood actresses were approached to play the female lead in Saguni but finally the offer has knocked the doors of Pranitha, (heroine of Udhayan). Pranitha is a Kannada actress who shot to fame with the remake of Pokkiri in Kannada. The actress also worked with Siddharth in a Telugu film.  She made her acting debut in Tamil with Arulnidhi in Udhayan and for her second film itself she is pairing opposite Karthi and this has surprised many actresses in South. Karthi will sport a whole-new-look for Saguni that boasts off interesting twists.

Saguni is a political thriller written and directed by debutant director Shankar Dayal. Many top-notch heroines were trying to get this role; Praneetha seems to have been the lucky one to grab this offer.

Pranitha is sure to become even hotter in Kollywood with Saguni.

Pranitha, the Udhayan girl, is going great guns it seems. If sources are to be believed, the Sandalwood actress has been signed to play the female lead in Saguni, a forthcoming film of Karthi.

'Her looks and talent have fetched her the Saguni offer. Pranitha has a meaty role to play in the film and she is happy to share the screen space with Karthi,' say sources in the know.

Pranitha, who is a popular actress in Kannada and Telugu film industries, entered Kollywood withUdhayan last week. 'I am happy with the feedback I have been getting for Udhayan,' she says.

The actress, who had worked with some of the top stars in Tollywood and Sandalwood, says, 'My aim is to do quality movies which offer me meaty roles. Languages is not a matter.'

Pranitha set for a promising debut in ‘Udhayan’

Pranitha, a popular actress in Kannada films, debuts in Tamil as heroine with the film ‘Udhayan’ opposite Arulnidhi. Readers might recall that the lanky Arulnidhi, grandson of Kalaignar, debuted as hero in Tamil films last year with the film ‘Vamsam’. Directed by Pandiraj, the film was a moderate hit and gave a good platform to Arulnidhi in Kollywood. Sunaina had starred opposite Arulnidhi in ‘Vamsam’, which was set in the rural backdrop.

Arulnidhi ‘returns’ to the city with Udhayan, whose story is urban in nature. The still photographs that were released to the press for publicity appear to indicate that Arulnidhi and Pranitha share a ‘good chemistry’, a necessary criterion in making a film succeed at the box-office. Pranitha appears to have floored the director and the crew with her willingness to learn Tamil at a terrific pace.

The Kannadiga girl, when offered the role to make her debut in Kollywood opposite Arulnidhi, grabbed the offer with both hands. Sources close to the actress say that she had been waiting for such a break for quite some time so as to make her entry in Tamil films. A quick learner, Pranitha is said to have put in a ‘decent’ performance in the film.

In fact, Unit sources say on condition of anonymity that Pranitha has done a ‘terrific’ job in emotional sequence and assure that she is likely to go places in Kollywood as she has the right mix of attitude and beauty which count a lot. The film, which would soon be hitting the screens, has another attraction in the form of a song sung by Shruti Haasan, the multi-talented actress.
