Another Punajbi dhaba after Simran, this lady is slowly gaining the momentum since she could not leave her interest on her software profession. Her stint as a model for Panataloon range of products made the difference in her which took her to the Tollywood for the debut in movies. However the rich dividend was paid to her for her performance in Vettrrimaran's Aadukalam opposite Dhanush, with National award. Within short span of time she could enter into the Mollywood too and that too with the star hero Mammooty.
The latest movie with her on the screen is Vandhan Vendran pairing with Jeeva, which is making some good news for her. Moreover she is on the shortlisted heroines for Vijay's upcoming movies and it is shocking to know that she declined an offer to pair with Surya. Her current salary is Rs 30 lakhs which sounds less but it may be hiked at any time.

I am not in love with Mahat-says Tapsee

 There were strong rumors that Mahath and Tapasee are in deep love. Mahath is the actor who had donned the role of bar owner in the film Mankatha.

Tapasee made her debut as heroine in the film Aadukalam. She has also paired with Jeeva in the recently released Vandhaan Vendraan.

Whenever Tapasee comes to Chennai, Mahath picks her from the airport. Both of them are frequently seen together in the parties and functions.
Mahath also goes to the shooting spots of Tapasee and waits till the shooting is over and picks her up. There is also news that Tapasee that she is seeking offers for Mahath.

When asked Tapasee about this, she said, " I have acted in numerous Telugu films. I am also acting in Tamil films. So far no producer or director has ever complained about me. Mahath is my good friend.

It is true that he picks and drops me at the shooting spots. This is a mere mutual help which is being done by colleagues or friends. Mahath has lot of cinema connections.

He knows Simbhu right from his child hood days. He is also a close friend of Dayanidhi Azhagiri. Hence there is no necessity for me to recommend for his acting chances to any producer or director."

Mahat denies affair with Taapsee

Mahat Raghavendra, who shot to fame with Mankatha by playing the role of a bar owner has trashed the rumours which linked him with actress Taapsee. The chemistry between both of them is currently talk of the tinsel town and further reports reveal that both of them were seen inseparable.

On speaking about the rumours Mahat Raghavendra “I don’t understand from why and where these rumours are popping-up. There is nothing true in these rumours and all these are baseless. I have good friends in the industry and my whole concentration is only on my career right now”.

So, let us wait and what will Taapsee say about the affair with Mahat Raghavendra.

Review: Vanthaan Vendraan  disappoints

After he made promising films such as Jeyamkondaan and Kanden Kadhalai, it's natural to expect a lot from director R Kannan. This time, he has chosen to do an action-adventure-thriller of sorts, (He came, he conquered), under the aegis of Vasan Visual Ventures. Unfortunately, what may look good on paper doesn't quite work the same way on screen.

The film begins with two young boys, half-brothers, who are constantly at each other's throats. Small events lead to bigger ones and eventually the older one throws the younger into a well and runs away.

Cut to Mumbai some years later, and the dashing, suave Ramana (Nandha), a man of few words, flaunting designer-wear and a host of goons and looking every inch a hero -- except that he isn't. He is, in fact, very much the villain with his own set of enemies and ruling, a la Varadharajan Mudaliar, almost the whole of Mumbai courtesy several Mumbaiites who speak Tamil fluently.

Enter our hero Arjun (Jiiva), a would-be boxer but currently lover, who moves heaven and earth for an audience with the much-feared don, and gets it. Once he's allowed to outline his problem, though, he embarks on a long story about his ambitions and his girlfriend Anjana (Tapsee), with whom he sings numerous duets to Thaman's music while frolicking beside some truly beautiful waterfalls (courtesy P G Muthiah's camera-work). In the end, Arjun has just one proposition to make, which comes as no surprise and all hell breaks loose.

Unfortunately, the screenplay falls apart spectacularly. The mildly engaging first half, with the antics of Santhanam, works slightly, but in the second half with its supposed cat-and-mouse games, silly plot twists and melodramatic climax, you can do little but sigh with disappointment. The sudden change of heart of various characters adds to one's dismay.

Pattukkottai Prabhakar's dialogues don't really add much pep. Jiiva more or less sleep-walks through his role while Tapsee mostly smiles and smirks through hers. Nandha comes off as the most stylish of them all and appears to be enjoying his role. The rest -- Malavika, Nizhalgal Ravi, Rahman et al -- have practically no part to play.
As for the hero, he does not, unfortunately, conquer much.

Vandhaan Vendraan passed censors with clean 'U'

Jiiva's forthcoming 'Vandhaan Vendraan' is much-expected by fans and the film is touted to hit the screens on September 16. Today, the film passed the censor board and was given a clean 'U' certificate. It is said that the board members thoroughly enjoyed watching this film.


The film directed by Kannan has Jiiva and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles with Nanda playing the baddie. Santhanam is on-board to provide comic relief and tunes are set in by Thaman.

Jiiva plays a boxer and it is said that Taapsee plays a chirpy young girl in the first half whereas there's a drastic change in her character as the film progresses. With a promising director who believes the script to be his first hero and young talents, 'Vandhaan Vendraan' is definitely one wholesome entertainer to look forward to this month.

Vanthaan Vendraan sees trouble from Mankatha

Jeeva is all set to hit the screens for the fourth time this year with Vanthaan Vendran. Though the film is ready to hit the screens but the release dates of the film are not finalized as they are waiting for Mankatha’s release. In fact the team doesn’t want to have a clash with Mankatha and wanted to release only after a gap of 2-3 weeks.

Meanwhile the Telugu version of the film which is titled as Vachadu Gelichadu is going see an audio launch tomorrow in Hyderabad. Jeeva is going to grace the audio launch in Hyderabad. The actor is slowly hitting the Tollywood market with a line of releases of his films. His film Rangam was well accepted by Telugu audiences and also hit 100 days mark.

Vanthaan Vendraan is an action entertainer, written and directed by R. Kannan and features Jeeva, Nandha and Taapsee Pannu in lead roles.

Taapsee to take a short break from Tamil films

Taapsee who wrapped up the shoot of Vandhan Vendran is all set to take a break from Tamil.

Currently the actress has four Telugu films lined up for release and two more films on hand. Apart from Telugu she has one film in Hindi of David Dhawan’s remake of Chashmee Badoor in Hindi. Since the actress is busy with all these projects, she decided not to sign any project. So only after completing all of tem she will be back in Tamil films.

The actress is expecting that she will get a lot of appreciation after Vandhan Vendran releases. She also promised that she will surely be back in Tamil very soon.

It may take nearly one year to complete her accomplishments. The Tamil audiences are going to miss her very much during this break.

Vanthaan Vendraan audio on July 21

Jeeva’s next outing Vanthaan Vendraan audio is going to hit the stores on July 21st, 2011. Earlier the makers of Vanthaan Vendraan have planned to launch the audio on June 12th but didn’t happen due to some official reasons.

Surprisingly July 21st happens to be Kannan’s birthday the director of the film. The team is happy to launch the audio on the same date as it would be a great coincidence. Mani Ratnam, Shankar, and Bala will be the guests of honor of the event. Kannan is a former associate of Mani Ratnam and he wants his mentor to impress with Vanthaan Vendraan. The film stars Jeeva, Taapsee, Nandha, Oviya, Simran and Santhanam in the lead roles.

Music is by Thaman and he had scored some soothing and peppy tuned for this album. The technical team consists of P. G. Muthiah for Cinematography and V. T. Vijayan for Editing.
