There are rumours in Kodambakkam that Vishnuvardhan will be directing Ajith’s next film. At this juncture Ajith has happened to see Kanchana directed by Lawrence.
He has immediately called upon him and has appreciated him very much. He has also asked him that if he has a good story, so that he can act in it. Lawrence on hearing this is in cloud nine and is readying a story for Ajith.

Though Ajith is in Goa for the shooting of Billa, Lawrence is narrating the story to Ajith over the phone. So sources in Kodambakkam now say that it is confirmed that Ajith will act in the film to be directed by Raghava Lawrence.

Karthi raving about Ajith's role in #Mankatha

Karthi just couldn't stop raving about Mankatha and Ajith's role in it. The star said that no other star would have had the courage to undergo such a makeover, especially a character that required traits of villainy and sporting grey hair. Ajith doing a role that befits his age is really cool, said Karthi. It proves that the star is experimental and not image conscious, he added.

In Mankatha, Ajith donned the role of a 40-year-old corrupt police officer and sported a salt and pepper look that was the talk of the town.

Shankar - AM Ratnam for Ajith next?

http://icdn1.indiaglitz.com/tamil/news/ajith061207_1.jpg
Even as reports appearing in the media in the last couple of days tend to suggest that Thala Ajith's next film after Billa-2 might be produced by A.M Rathnam, conflicting reports are still emanating as to who exactly would be making the star's upcoming venture.

Ajith has been on cloud nine following the mega-success of his latest and landmark 50th film Mankatha. Trade circles point out that despite Ajith's plea to his fans a few months back to disband and dissolve all the fans' clubs operating in his name and concentrate in taking care of their families and themselves, the opening witnessed by Mankatha was nothing short of being termed as 'phenomenal'.

Billa-2, said to be Ajith's dream film would be a sequence to his 2007 hit film Billa but unlike the usual sequel films, the film's story won't commence from where the first part ended; instead, the script would dig deep to find out the reasons and the backdrop which were behind a commoner turning into a dreaded don.

It was reported some time back that his next film would be produced by A.M Ratnam and that he would be paid Rs.17 crores as fee, becoming the highest paid Tamil actor after superstar Rajnikanth, whom he idolizes. In all likelihood, the film might be directed by Shankar, the 'superstar' director of Kollywood. It is also stated that 'Jayam' Raja, fresh from directing Vijay in Velayudham, might direct Ajith for the first time by making the remake of Mahesh Babu's Telugu film Thookkudu in Tamil with Ajith playing the lead.

Ajith says 'CM Jayalalitha is like my Mom'

http://tamilomovie.com/images/DailyNewsPhotos/Ajith%20and%20Chief%20Minister%20Jayalalitha.jpgActor Ajith Kumar said that Chief Minister J Jayalalitha treated him as if he is her son. In a recent interview while speaking about the meeting with the Jayalalitha, he said, " I can never forget when Jayalalitha attended my marriage and showered her blessings on us. Shalini and I had been to Jayalalitha Amma’s Poes Garden residence. He showered her love as if I was her own son."

When asked Ajith that whether he was threatened by the ex Chief Minister M Karunanidhi for his out spoken speech in a film function, he said, "I am a person who believes in democracy. I will give great respect to all the political leaders. I spoke my views very frankly in that function. There was no other intention. My beloved ex Chief Minister also came in person to my marriage and showered his blessings. This will always be in my heart."

Moreover while speaking, he said, " I am aged 40 years now. I don’t know whether I will live for another 20 years. A person’s identity is that how he lives. The amount of people who gather for a person’s funeral will determine that how the person has lived. People who gather for my funeral will show the whole world that who Ajith Kumar is."

The spiritualist in Ajith is in full form of late. The Thala has been regularly visiting places of worship and is even planning to leave for Himalayas. "Rajini sir had told me a lot about the holy mountain. I am eagerly waiting for an opportunity to go there," he says.

"Recently, I visited Guruvayur and Chottanikarai temples in Kerala, Chamundeeswari and Moogambikai shrines in Karnataka and Nagoor and Velankanni in Tamil Nadu. I also took a padha yatra to Tirupati from Thiruvanmiyur four times," discloses Ajith.

"It takes five days for me to reach Tirumala from Chennai. We a gang of friends have made it a regular habit to go on a padha yatra to worship Lord Balaji. Now, after reading the books gifted by the Superstar, I am seriously planning to go to Himalayas."

Saying that it wish is that everyone should remember him as a gentleman, Ajith says, "There is no point in earning bad name. The success of one's life is in the goodwill he/she creates. It will speak a lot on our behalf."

I am not only person behind Mankatha Success - Ajith

Mankatha which is Ajith’s 50th film is still running to packed houses. Ajith’s 25th film Amarkalam was also a great hit and similarly Ajith’s 50th film has also turned out to be a blockbuster.

When asked Ajith about these successes he said, " I should thank the people and fans. I can’t attribute this success to me alone. This is a success to Venkat Prabhu, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Vaibhav, Premji, Aswin, Mahath, cinematographer Sakthi and all the other technicians. They have all carried me on the shoulders and made this film a success.
I am also thankful to action king Arjun sir who agreed to share the screen with me without even listening to the story. It is also my duty to thank the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister because there were lots of rumors that there will be problem in releasing this film due to political vendetta. This is a real slap on the back of the people who spread these false rumours."

Jayam Raja not directing Ajith-Jayam Ravi

Raja is not directing Ajith: Jayam Ravi
Actor Jayam Ravi denied the news that his brother Jayam Raja is going to direct a film with Thala Ajith.

But it is not yet decided whether Jayam Raja will direct the film or not.

Ajith says 'Rajini is Dhronacharya and I am his Ekalaiva'

http://pirapalam.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Ajith-Rajini-mankatha-300x200.jpg
Comparing his relationship with Superstar Rajinikanth with that of Ekalaiva and Dhronacharya in the great epic Mahabharata, Ajith has said he had learnt many things from the numero uno actor of Tamil cinema by watching him from distance.

"I shaped up my career on the lines of Rajini sir. Like how there was no one to support him when he made his foray in the industry, I too didn't have anyone to back me up. But I got enough inspiration from the Superstar. He is my Dhronacharya and I am his Ekalaiva," said the 'Thala'.

Saying that he would like to dedicate the success of his 50th film 'Mankatha' to Rajini, Ajith said, "At the same time, I would like to personally express my gratitude to each member of the cast and crew, who gave nothing but their best to Mankatha."

On many young actors of Tamil film industry considering him as their role model, the star, who is currently busy shooting for 'Billa 2', said, "The mere word 'thanks' is not enough to express my feelings. Honestly speaking, I don't know how to react."

Meanwhile, when a leading daily quizzed him whether he will enter politics, Ajith expressed that he strongly feels each citizen should do their duty which is more then enough. Quoted the Thala, "I act, earn, pay taxes, do the little good I can, vote and take care of my family. I expect my fans will do the same. Leave politics to the Government, they'll take care. Its no good if everyone enters politics. We talk of corruption and bribery, but I strongly believe each Indian is responsible for this. How many of us follow basic things such as traffic rules in our lives? Lets do our duties, even that's as good as politics".

Simbu's Osthi tribute to Ajith's Mankatha

http://static.sify.com/cms/image/ljck2Xhahcg.jpg
Well if your wondering what we are referring to, Simbu, a die-hard fan of Ajith has a tribute to his thala's 'Mankatha' in his forthcoming Diwali release 'Osthi'!

Ajith's well-received dialogue in 'Mankatha', 'Naanum Evalavu Naalthaan Nallavanavae Nadikirathu...' set a rage among the young and now Simbu will be using this one-liner in his 'Osthi' towards the end of the film.

'Mankatha' had a tribute to Simbu's 'Vaanam' dialogue, 'Enna Vazhka Da Idhu...', looks like the thala fan has something in store for his matinee idol now.

'Osthi' starring Silambarasan aka Simbu, Richa Gangopadhyay in the lead roles is a remake of B'town super hit 'Dabaang', and an item number featuring Simbu, Mallika Sherawat and Sonu Sood is one of the USPs of the film.

Billa 2[David] Ajith dangerous than Mankatha Vinayak Ajith

http://entertainment.oneindia.in/img/2011/09/10-ajith-kumar-100911.jpg
Ajith has proved his star value again by living up to the audience expectation, and all over his fans imagination with his recently released Mankatha. The actor, who dared to do the role of a baddie, has been praised for his scintillating acting in the recently released Tamil film, which has given more confidence for the movie bosses of his next film, Billa, to make his character more deadly and vibrant.

The makers of Billa, who were eagerly waiting for the response of the audience for Ajith Kumar’s role of Vinayak Mahadevan in Mankatha, are happy that the fans of the actor is ready to see their star in all out baddie role. The success of Mankatha has made them to change their game plan. If sources are to be believed, David Billa’s character will be more deadly and worst than all his previous films.

Meanwhile, the first schedule of Billa 2 has been completed at Ramoji Film City. Now, the film unit is all set to start the second phase in Goa. The movie will also be shot in Pondicherry, Chennai and Europe. The movie also features Mumbai-based model Huma Qureshi, Bruna Abdullah, Prabhu, Rahman, Krishnakumar and others in the cast.

Will Ajith - Gautham Menon come together?

https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjSXnjZKhlcXoZg8ayIv_RFdfFgzt0TWZ1sEK-kPOL_5ywkNwM6Gs_IoLgdYD_OheAQkQ-DI9qYN2zTfIazTi2W0QJKFpNSwDobkoIU9OBw0XHzg8NjHBjWL0pnsrtz7AZlNGEmMMPCPg8/s1600/ajith-gautham.png
This has been the never-ending question that has been rounding upon airs from the time they parted ways due to creative difference of opinions. Gautham Menon always follows a specific pattern of not revealing the story to his actors and that supposedly had irked Ajith Kumar. But the actor was polite enough to say that things didn’t work out well and they will surely work together for a project.

But during later point of time, while attending a college function Gautham Menon put down Ajith fans by saying, "Who is Thala? I don’t know any such person like that". It is also worth recalling that he had openly admitted that he doesn’t want to work with people who don’t have their heads right over the shoulders.
But now the bitter memories have likely faded away and let us hope they come together giving a big stroke.

Simbu watched Mankatha 2nd time by standing on stairs

http://tamil.way2movies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Simbuajith.jpg

Ajith in Race Hindi Movie Tamil remake

http://www.accesskollywood.com/akd-images/news-images/ajith-mani-ratnam-30-08-11.jpg
'Race' a 2008 Bollywood super hit might see a remake in Tamil soon! Dhananjayan Govind of UTV expressed, "UTV is serious about remaking Race in Tamil and thanks to one of Ajith's fan's idea to make it with Ajith sir, let's hope we can crack this".

True to its title, 'Race' was a racy action thriller that boasted off an ensemble of star cast including Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Anil Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Katrina Kaif and showcased betrayal within a family, all for money. And now, the very word 'money' reminds one of Ajith after his spectacular performance as a baddie in 'Mankatha' and his go-getter attitude in the film, all for money.

It maybe mentioned that Ajith is currently busy with work on 'Billa 2' where he plays an underworld don, a prequel to his earlier success 'Billa'. His character as David in this film has a good dose of grey shades as well.

Looks like playing baddie works luck for Ajith for he pulls off a great villain. The team is yet to approach Ajith and the rest of the crew is yet to be zeroed on.

Ajith's Mankatha beats Rajinikanth's Endhiran openings

http://tamil.way2movies.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/09/Mankatha-surpasses_endhiran.jpg

The collection figures are yet to be tabulated, but Mankatha will set best ever opening day collections in Thala’s career.

Surprisingly, Mankatha was proved as a biggest hit and reportedly had the highest openings in Tamil which exceeded the records of Rajinikanth’s Endhiran.

http://farm7.static.flickr.com/6206/6055416586_791135be2b.jpg

Vivek Oberoi was supposed to do the lead role in this film. But we did not speak about this film to him. At that point of time, I got a phone call from Ajith. He said, " I heard that you have titled your film as Mankatha. Greetings. It is a good name.

I want to act in a role like Heath Ledger did in the Hollywood film The Dark Knight. Is it possible to make a story for me like that one?" I told him that Mankatha is such a story and told him the crux of the story. He was impressed. He said that the story was good and he is ready to act in it. All this took place in three minutes."
