Newcomers Aree and 'Miss Bangalore' Samar come together to play the lead roles in the upcoming film titled Maalai Pozhuthin Mayakathile (MM). The film is directed by Adhi, who had been working as an assistant director under Mysskin in films like Anjathay and Nandalala.
Mayuri Sekar, a popular distributor who has distributed many successful Tamil films in countries like Singapore, Malaysia and the U.S., turns producer with MM. Sekar is producing the film with a huge budget, notwithstanding the fact that the film stars a whole lot of newcomers.
The film, a family entertainer, is based on the incidents we come across in our lives almost on a daily basis. Others who play major roles in the film include Panju, Subbu, R.S. Sivaji, Sathish, Balaji, Karuna, Tejaswini, Sekar and Master Vishnu. The film's shooting, which is currently taking place in Chennai, would soon move to places like Goa, Mumbai and in picturesque locations of Kerala.
Song sequences are likely to be shot in Austria, New Zealand and Fiji Islands. The music launch would be held in October and would be followed by the film's theatrical release in December. For the first time in the country, the whole film would made in 'sync' sound by sound recordist Thomas Kurien.
For the first time in her career, actress Rohini has revealed a hitherto unknown face of hers: she has penned all the lyrics in the film, which have been set to score by Achchu.
