The Madurai Bench of the Madras High court on Wednesday dismissed Khushboo's petition seeking anticipatory bail in connection with a case related to election campaign, which was registered in Andipatti.
Kushboo, one of the star campaigners for the then ruling party DMK, has been accused of campaigning at Andipatti without permission from police and election officials and causing hindrance to public.
In her plea, the actress-politician said she belonged to a popular political party and was playing an important role as a campaigner for it. She contended that the case registered against her was false. However, Justice R Mala dismissed the plea.
At the same time, the court granted anticipatory bail to Kushboo in another case related to campaigning during Assembly elections. The case was registered against her for allegedly violating the model code of conduct while campaigning in Panchettypatti, Theni district.
