Veteran actress Gandhimathi who was aged 65 years passed away today. She was admitted at a private nursing home for the last 6 months and was under treatment. She was discharged from the hospital only two days back. She became very popular through the film Pathinaaru Vayathinile. She had excelled by donning various kinds of character roles.
She had acted in more than 300 films including Karakattakaran, Manickam, Walter Vetrivel, Chinna Thambi Periya Thambi, Agal Vilakku, Aan Azhagan, Amaidhi Padai,. Amman Kovil Vasalile, Anbu Thozhi, Athai Magal Rathiname, Chidambara Rahasiyam, Man Vasanai, Kadhal Oviyam, Kumbakarai Thangaiah, Muthu and Thavasi. She has also acted in TV serials.
She is survived by her two adopted sons. Her son Deenadayalan said that her final rites will take place today. Numerous people have visited her residence to offer their commiserations.
