Strict guidelines for Tamil film ET exemption!

Tamilnadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has come out with huge changes on the conditions that films must follow, if they are to qualify for tax exemption. Let us take a look to the new rules laid by the TN government:
1) In order to get tax exemption the films should carry U certificate from the Censor Board and the will not be given for films with U/A and A certificates.
2) The story of the film should be relevant to Tamil culture and help the same to flourish.
3) Majority of the dialogues should be in Tamil
4) The film with heavy high adult content and violence will not be eligible for tax waiver.
These new guidelines will be applicable to all films that are yet to get the tax exemption. Further, a special committee will be appointed to advise films that would be eligible for the entertainment tax waiver.
So with the new modifications films like Avan Ivan, Aranayakandam, and Kanchana have no chance, as they are all ‘A’ certificate films! It looks like Deiva Thirumagal is lucky in all ways as it holds a U certificate and doesn’t carry any blood, gore or bad language.
